LSN: Al Gore promotes population control as answer to climate change

NEW YORK CITY, June 23, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The effort to curb climate change demands that we “stabilize the population,” according to former Vice-President Al Gore.
Speaking at the Games for Change Festival in New York City on Monday, the leading environmental activist reiterated his demand for the promotion of “fertility management” among the poor to reduce the world’s population.
“One of the principle ways of [stabilizing the population] is to empower and educate girls and women,” he said, as reported by the Daily Caller. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children to have, the spacing of the children.”
“You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women,” he continued. “And that’s the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.”
While the question of whether climate change is, in fact, man-made is a contentious issue among scientists, it has nevertheless been used as a rallying cry for the international population control movement, including by leading international abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes.
Gore himself has advocated “family planning” measures, including abortion, to curb population as a means of protecting the environment for at least fifteen years.
Though the “education” in “fertility management” that Gore advocates is technically voluntary, critics have pointed out that such methods are often promoted by coercing poor women into accepting contraception who would actually prefer help bearing their children safely.
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) claims that over 200 million women have an “unmet need” for contraception.  But, according to Steven Mosher, president of the Population Research Institute (PRI), when that figure was developed, women were deemed to have such an “unmet need” based simply on the fact that they had had a baby in the last two years and were not currently sterilized or on contraception.
Further, PRI’s surveys in countries like Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Mexico have found in every case that “reproductive health” was lowest on women’s list of health care priorities.

Thoughts on the American "Catholic" Council

What is there to think about?

Just the same old, same old.  Same old bunch of graying heretics still whining and crying because Holy Church will not acquiesce to their demands for women's ordination, recognition of homosexual relations as normal and good, and all sorts of the other heretical swamp water that has flowed from the polluted river of the "Spirit of Vatican II".

The National Catholic Reporter (read either as Distorter or, more accurately, Fishwrap or Bird-Cage Liner) has already published a rather glowing review of the proceedings, as befitting them (and I must say, oh how I HATE having to link to them), and I'm sure the pseudo-Catholic press will chime in as well.  But, in the end, they will lose.  They claim that they are attracting the youth, but I think a better description would be their supporter's grandkids.  In reality, we know where the youth, and the future, are going; they're rallying around the Holy Father's efforts to revitalize Catholic identity, and flocking to the traditional Mass.  In short, the pseudo-Catholics will lose.  Period.  No questions asked.

But, a lost soul is a lost soul, and there were lots of lost souls in Detroit on Pentecost weekend.  So, please say a prayer for their conversion.

LSN: Home Depot pledges to continue support for gay agenda despite massive petition/boycott

ATLANTA, Georgia, June 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - For several years, Home Depot has thrown its support behind activism; now it has indicated that it will continue to do so despite being handed a petition with almost half a million names asking the company to “remain neutral in the culture war.”

According to the American Family Association (AFA), Home Depot has chosen to sponsor and participate in numerous gay pride parades and festivals. AFA charges that by conducting kid’s craft workshops at special booths targeting youngsters, the company has deliberately exposed small children to the lewd displays of sexual conduct by homosexuals and cross-dressers that are a common occurrence at these events.

It's clear which side Home Depot is on in the culture wars.  They will not be getting a single dime of my money from now on.

FPM: Muslim Woman Seeks to Revive Institution of Sex-Slavery

Last week witnessed popular Muslim preacher Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini boast about how Islam allows Muslims to buy and sell conquered infidel women, so that “When I want a sex-slave, I go to the market and pick whichever female I desire and buy her.”
This week’s depraved anachronism comes from a Muslim woman—Salwa al-Mutairi, a political activist and former parliamentary candidate for Kuwait’s government, no less: She, too, seeks to “revive the institution of sex-slavery.”
A brief English report appeared over the weekend in the Kuwait Times (nothing, of course, in the MSM):

Muslim men who fear being seduced or tempted into immoral behavior by the beauty of their female servants, or even of those servants “casting spells” on them, would be better to purchase women from an “enslaved maid” agency for sexual purposes. She [Mutairi] suggested that special offices could be set up to provide concubines in the same way as domestic staff recruitment agencies currently provide housemaids. “We want our youth to be protected from adultery,” said al-Mutairi, suggesting that these maids could be brought as prisoners of war in war-stricken nations like Chechnya to be sold on later to devout merchants.

“Every generation of Americans has brought our Nation closer to fulfilling its promise of equality. While progress has taken time, our achievements in advancing the rights of LGBT Americans remind us that history is on our side, and that the American people will never stop striving toward liberty and justice for all,” wrote Obama, in declaring June to be “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Month.”

I'm going to puke... turning the  month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus into a month celebrating a disordered, deviant lifestyle.

Still think the Democratic Party are our friends?

ALBANY, New York, May 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - As the same-sex “marriage” battle heats up again in New York, one writer at a prominent gay news source is questioning why his lobby refuses to admit that the gay agenda involves “indoctrinating” schoolchildren to accept homosexuality.
Queerty contributor Daniel Villarreal criticized (WARNING site contains inappropriate images) the homosexual movement’s knee-jerk reaction against accusations of meddling in public schools. Villarreal pointed to a recent National Organization for Marriage (NOM) ad launched in New York that points out how homosexual indoctrination has been introduced in Massachusetts and California schools.  Two of the books designed to teach children about homosexuality in a positive light.

While gay activists usually deny that they want to indoctrinate children, said Villarreal, “let’s face it—that’s a lie.” “We want educators to teach future generations of children to accept queer sexuality. In fact, our very future depends on it,” he wrote.
Villarreal pointed to the tactics of a gay activist group FCKH8, which fought a recent Tennessee bill prohibiting classroom discussion of homosexuality in grade school by “hir[ing]some little girls to drop F-bombs” in their controversial online ad campaign, and handing out gay paraphernalia to schoolchildren. “Recruiting children? You bet we are,” he said.
“Why would we push anti-bullying programs or social studies classes that teach kids about the historical contributions of famous queers unless we wanted to deliberately educate children to accept queer sexuality as normal?”
In fact, Villarreal said that his dream of increasing not only the acceptance, but the future practice of homosexuality among youngsters was common among those in the gay lobby.
“I and a lot of other people want to indoctrinate, recruit, teach, and expose children to queer sexuality AND THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT,” he wrote.
New York is seeing a renewed push for same-sex “marriage,” with supporters hoping to see passage of a new marriage definition before the end of the legislative session on June 20.
A similar initiative had failed in 2009, but gay rights strategists are hopeful that power shifts in the legislature since then, including two more senatorial seats in favor of gay “marriage,” will result in a different outcome. Supporters also cite rising support for gay “marriage” in polls among New Yorkers, with 58 percent reportedly saying they back the change in a recent poll.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg lobbied lawmakers in Albany on Tuesday to overturn the traditional definition of marriage in the state.

Well, refreshing to see a homosexual activist so honest about his real agenda.  Now if only the rest of them were, and the public would see the movement for what it is.
