From the Liturgy of the Hours, Volume III:
This feast commemorates the dedication of the church of Saint Mary which was built in Jerusalem near the site of the Temple. With Christians of the East, the Latin Church also recalls on this day the tradition according the which Mary as a small child was presented to the Lord by her parents in the Temple.
Prayer:
Eternal Father, we honor the holiness and the glory of the Virgin Mary. Mary her prayers bring us the fullness of your life and love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
